4 out of 5 Stars
Will Wyatt has always played the part of pirate, but now he’s a fish out of water in the Highlands of Scotland. With a bounty on his head, he’s laying low by helping his sister and a troop of abandoned children journey to a new home. He didn’t count on a spunky Highland lass stealing his breath after he steals a kiss.Untamed Hearts was a thoroughly sweet historical romance and a really good read! The characters, Will and Jonet, are really easy to like. Will is a pirate laying low until the bounty on his head is removed and I loved how carefree he was and how he made Jonet feel good about herself. Jonet was a favorite character of mine from a previous book in the Highland Hearts series and I was so happy to see Jonet finally get her own story. She is a really good person and has devoted herself to taking care of the orphaned children in her clan. Although she outwardly shows confidence and bravery, she's been hurt before and feels kind of like she is unlovable for a man. Watching their story unfold was loads of fun and very heartwarming.
Jonet Montgomery has longed for a chivalrous knight her whole young life. Instead she found herself wed to a cheating scoundrel and left a widow. Giving up on love, Jonet turned to helping the orphaned children of her clan, but when a lusty, silver-tongued rogue opens a crack in Jonet’s routine life, she’s tempted by his offer to taste adventure of the most pleasurable kind.
Will’s heart of gold shines through despite his infamous past, making Jonet risk her reputation once again. But can she possibly be enough woman to keep this sexy pirate from straying? With her past embarrassment haunting her, she risks more than just her reputation this time. She risks her heart.
Just because Untamed Hearts is a novella doesn't mean that it is short on the story, Heather McCollum packed lots of story in this little book (Goodreads lists it as 163 pages, so it's not as short as some novellas out there)! With lots of adventure, sweet and sexy romance, memorable characters, and a wee bit of magic set in the historic Highlands, the Highland Hearts series has quickly made it into my "Must Read" list!
I can't wait on Crimson Heart to come out next month, especially since I've read the blurb and found out that it is about Searc! Can. Not. Wait.

I like the sound of this one. Mini magic in the highlands, gives me the feels ;)
ReplyDeleteI love historical romance and paranormal romance, and this series kind of lightly blends the two :) I've been reading all I can from her. The next book has a character from previous books that I really like as the mc and I can't wait, luckily I don't have too long to wait since it comes out next month. I've been stalking Netgalley, waiting for it to go up on there lol.
